The ringers at Ash Tower send greetings to all, especially lapsed ringers. "Ash-by-Wrotham Change Ringers" welcome all to our very informal, drop in style, practices held between 9 and 11 am on Saturday mornings. The present band consists of people aged between 11 and 60+ and includes several returned ringers and a wide range of abilities.

The 6 bells vary in age from 1717 to 1856, and in weight, from approximately 3 to 9.5 hundredweight. There are records of 3 bells being hung in the tower back in 1552.

We need ringers to keep a very old tradition alive! We try to maintain links with all other bands in the area. This means you can move from 6 to 8 to 12 bells, ring heavier bells and attempt more complex methods as you progress or you'll be welcome to stick to simple change ringing, it's up to you. As a ground floor ring, it's very easy to find the way into the ringing chamber, so there's no excuse that you could not find us! Come along and have a go!
