Instant 2011

June 5th, 2011, was the 17th Ash Church Instant. This year the first half was Faure 'Requiem', a special request from John and Jacquie, and the second half was Opera Highlights: the Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin; Dido's lament and final chorus from Dido and Aeneas; Dove sei, amato bene from Rodelinda; Soave sia il vento from Cosi fan tutte; Habanera from Carmen; Au foud du temple saint from The Pearl Fishers; Chorus of the Hebrew Slave from Nabucco; O mio babbino caro from Giammi Schicchi; and the Easter Hymn from Cavalleria Rusticana. Jacquie sang a solo during Faure 'Requiem' and the Rector was part of the trio singing Soave sia it vento. Other members of the choir: Jean Bentley; Judy Burrows and Nick Noakes also song solo or group parts.
John Harding conducted the first half and Nick Noakes conducted the second half. Chris Tingley and Gillian Noakes provided the music on clavinova and organ. An absolutely brilliant evening as always.
