Church room
Our church has served the community for over 700 years and if, it is to continue to serve it, it has to be brought up to modern-day standards. It needs toilets, it needs a small servery for refreshments and it needs a communal area were people can gather after services or were small meetings can be held.
We are very restricted in what we can do inside the existing structure, so the alternative is to create a new space, separate from but attached to the old building, to house these facilities. Only by doing this can we hope to secure the long-term future of the church building by widening its potential uses for many community purposes.
Therefore we plan to add an extension to the north of the church to contain these much needed facilities.
We don't have an exact figure for this project but we estimate it to be in the region of £250,000.
We don't have this amount available at the moment so, once we have our planning permission, we will be embarking on a major fund raising activity. If you would like to donate some money towards this project, please contact one of the Churchwardens.
The latest design of the room, Oct 09 design, has been accepted by the PCC, although the internal layout may be changed slightly over the coming months.
Jan 19th, 2010 - Sevenoaks District Council approved our planning application.
